Daniela
Hello! I’m Daniela Quintela, born in 1988. I grew up in Covilhã, studied Health Sciences (Bachelor’s degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics) in Lisbon, and today I live in Porto, where I work as a professional photographer specializing in Wedding, Newborn, and Maternity photography. Although photography has always been part of my life, Daniela Quintela Photography officially began in 2016 as a hobby and inevitably turned into my profession. Maybe I inherited the passion from my maternal grandfather, who was also a photographer! I love portrait photography and everything it brings that is truly precious: capturing faces, feelings, and emotions. Helping families preserve memories has been something unique and challenging, through continuous learning and growth. What does photography have in common with healthcare (Orthotics & Prosthetics)? Nothing. And everything! The joy I’ve always felt in being able to help in some way or with someone has guided every decision in my life. As a young woman, I just didn’t know the power that photography had! I feel grateful for discovering early on something that truly fulfills me. Do I regret studying healthcare instead of photography? Not at all! Knowledge and experience are never too much: they transform us and free us in many ways. My goal as a photographer is to fill the walls of your home with your story, so that every image warms your heart for many years to come. And if I weren’t a photographer? I’d definitely be doing something related to animals, the beings I admire the most in this world for their incredible ability to express themselves without saying a single word. I could never be a veterinarian, because I can’t bear the thought that they don’t live as long as we do! If it were up to me, I’d have a whole zoo at home… but since photography takes up most of my time, I just have the best cat in the world: Clapton! 🐾
João
I’m João Reis, born in 1991, and the videographer behind Feelin’ Motion, as well as a bit of a nerd when it comes to Japanese culture, television, and music. I grew up in Porto and studied Electrical Engineering, a field in which I worked for almost 10 years. But video and audio have always whispered to me. It’s no coincidence that back in my final year of high school, I filmed, edited, and wrote the script for a one-hour movie as part of a school project. Meeting Daniela and discovering her passion for photography opened up a whole new world for me to explore. Little by little, I found myself creating videos with passion and that’s how Feelin’ Motion was born, out of our love and our shared devotion to the camera. I truly enjoyed the years I spent building tech solutions for different companies, but my heart started beating stronger the moment I realized that creating memories for people is one of the most beautiful things in the world. Music also holds a huge place in my heart: I collect CDs and vinyl records, and whenever I can, I play guitar, piano, or drums, even if just as an amateur. Chances are I’ll ask many music-related questions to our couples, and I hope they’ll get just as excited as I do! With every wedding film, I’ll do my best to understand your story and together, through images, sound, and narrative, I’ll create the most meaningful film of your life.
About Us
We are Daniela and João, a couple brought together by life in 2011, in Lisbon. João’s charm—guitar on his back—whispered into Daniela’s ear during a college party, and from that day on, we’ve shared every possible and imaginable moment. Equations, physical laws, and human anatomy once filled our days, but everything changed when we realized that photographing and filming life’s moments was like a melody whispering all the emotions we truly needed. That’s when we turned a passion into our profession! We are simple, determined dreamers—dreaming every day of being a wedding photographer and videographer. It’s an honor to be part of such important days in people’s lives, to capture love with our love, to meet new people and places, and even to shed a tear in the heat of the moment. Outside of our professional lives, we love discovering new restaurants, going to the cinema, and spending time at home with our cat, Clapton.
STUDIO
Our studio is located in Porto and, besides being the place where we hold our wedding meetings, it is also where Daniela dedicates herself daily to newborn, maternity, baby, and family sessions. This is where we welcome you, and where we are happiest doing what we truly love.
LOGO
The Cherry Blossom represents renewal, love, hope, and the fulfillment of new dreams. It blooms for only a short time, and so its flower symbolizes the fragility of life, reminding us that moments should be lived intensely, as time is fleeting and life passes quickly. In our logo, we represented photography through the camera, and with a touch of imagination, we portrayed video through the tree’s “imaginary popcorn.” The logo was designed by our colleague Felipe from Across The Mountains – ATM_Branding.
